Gambling System and Strategy

Any gambling system follows either the positive progression or negative progression system. The 1326 gambling system is a positive progression system whereas Martingale system follows negative progression. Some of the better-known gambling systems and strategies are described here.

Gambling System

There are two basic types of gambling system - positive progression gambling system and negative progression gambling system.

Gambling Advice / Gambling Tip

In a positive progression gambling system, you increase the bet when you win, as in "let-it-ride".
Require less capital and usually employed to take advantage of winning streaks. Examples are 1-3-2-6 gambling system and the Parlay system.

Gambling Strategy

What happens in a negative progression gambling system?
· Increase the bet when you lose
· Require more capital
· Employed to force a winning outcome following a losing streak
· Avoid such systems if possible
Examples are the D’Alenbert, Martingale, and Labouchere systems.

1-3-2-6 Gambling System / Gambling Tip

This is a positive progression gambling system / gambling strategy very similar to the Paroli system. It is based on the argument that you can win 4 times in a row. The initial bet would be 1 unit, the second 3 units, the third 2 units and the fourth is 6 units. Let us assume that each unit is worth about $10 and the gambling odds are 1:1 even money.

Gambling Advice / Gambling Strategy

The first bet is $10. Suppose you win the first wager. Add $10 to the $20 won. Thus the second bet is now 30$. If you win the second wager, add 30$ to the $30 already won. The third bet now is $60. Now take down 40$. You are left with $20. Add $20 to the 40$ taken down to make $60 for the 4th bet. If you win the 4th bet, you will have in hand $120. At this point, the bet is taken down and we start over at $10. So, each time you lose at any level, start over at $10.

Suppose you lose the first bet, your loss is $10. At the second level, loss is $20 and at the third level (since you are taking down $40), the loss gives a net profit of $20. At the fourth level, it breaks even. In this system, the risk is losing $20 while making a profit $120.

Parlay Gambling System

The parlay bet is a positive progression gambling system / gambling strategy, similar to the Paroli system. It has the effect of 'pyramiding your profit'. Pyramiding is a parlay wager plus its winnings are played on successive wagers. The parlay is a common strategy in horse race gambling and football gambling.

Parlay Gambling Strategy / Parlay Gambling Tip

Initially, you make a bet. If you win the bet, re-invest the winnings on the next bet. Thus you actually "let it ride". The Parlay strategy is by no means risk-free, but offers the least amount of risk of all wagers. This is because the player is only concerned with a win, place, and show selection or a combination of the three.

Parlay Gambling Advice: The Parlay strategy is one of the oldest methods of wagering and was originally developed from the same basis that banking systems use to compound interest.

The D'Alenbert Gambling System / Gambling Tip

The D'Alenbert system is a negative progression and insurance system. It is a mixture of the Martingale and insurance system. The bets are raised one unit after each losing bet and lowered one unit after each winning bet. The sequence and amount raised or lowered is varied to suit different games and gambling odds.

The Insurance Gambling System / Gambling Strategy

In the insurance gambling strategy, you decrease the amount when you win. This strategy follows a high initial bet or a short 'let-it-ride' progressive wins. It is sort of a play-it-safe gambling strategy.

The Martingale Gambling System

The Martingale System is an old gambling system. It is a negative progression system. The basis of the Martingale system is the probability of losing infinite times in a row. This gambling strategy is applied to 'even money' bets.

How the Gambling system works

Initially you start with one bet if you win. If you lose, you lose your double bet. Thus every time you lose, you double your last lost bet. The assumption is that you are bound to win eventually. When you win, you recover all your lost wagers plus one-unit or chip profit against your initial wager.

The Disadvantages of the Gambling system

· Looks infallible in theory
· Requires a large bankroll
· Very risky - due to the maximum bet limits imposed by casinos
· If you run out of money or reach the house limit - you can lose a lot with no chance to recover your losses

The Labouchere Gambling System

The Labouchere gambling system is again a negative progression system, and is also called the cancellation system. It is a gambling strategy that has many variations.

In the simplest form, here is how the Labouchere Gambling system / Gambling strategy / Gambling tip / Gambling advice works:

First, write down a series or a set of numbers. For example: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. The series can be short or long and not necessarily sequential, as in: 1, 1, 1, 3, 3, 5, and 7. The choice of a particular series depends on the type of gambling game and the gambling odds. Every number of the series represents the amount in units or chips to bet.
The first step is to bet the first and last of these numbers. In the above series it is 1 and 6, thus totaling 7 units. If you win, cross out the two numbers and bet the next two end numbers that is 2 and 5. If you win again, bet on 3 and 4. If you win that too, you have made a 'coup' or completed one game. Now you start all over again.

Suppose you lose, add that one number to the end of the series. For example, if you lose the first bet, that is 7 (1+6) units, add 7 to the end of the series as in: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7. Thus you next bet 8 units. If you win the first bet but lose the second and fifth, then the series of numbers would look like this: 2 3 4 5 7.

When the series is completed or when you make a coup, there is always a profit. In this gambling strategy, you could end up gambling large sums of money even if the initial bet is small. The gambling odds are high in this gambling strategy.

The Paroli Gambling System

The Paroli system is in a way, opposite to the Martingale system. In this gambling strategy / gambling tip, you start with one bet, and increase your bet when you win rather than when you lose.
A Paroli gambling tip: in this strategy, you need to plan a gambling procedure whereby you know how far you will let the bet build before you actually take it.
The strategy is to decide how much to take down to the initial starting bet and how much to raise after each win. This depends on the type of game played and the gambling odds.

Advantages of the Paroli Gambling System:

· Does not require a large bankroll
· Lets profit run and cuts short the losses
